Denver Sister Cities International continued to strengthen global relationships in 2025 through 41 projects carried out across its sister city partnerships, reflecting the energy of volunteers, committee leaders, and community members working to keep international connections active in Denver.

These projects included cultural events, youth exchanges, delegations, conferences, and humanitarian initiatives that brought people together locally and internationally.

Several city committees led especially active programming throughout the year. Takayama, Japan supported a broad range of exchanges and community events, while Potenza, Italy continued its strong tradition of cultural programming and youth engagement. Axum, Ethiopia, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, and Kunming, China also advanced meaningful activities that strengthened ties through civic and cultural exchange.

Across all city partnerships, projects ranged from educational exchanges and delegation visits to humanitarian outreach and cultural celebrations — demonstrating the many ways sister city relationships continue to create value for Denver.

Denver Sister Cities’ work remains rooted in citizen diplomacy: building trust, friendship, and understanding through direct people-to-people connection.

As Denver’s international partnerships continue to evolve, these projects reflect both long-standing friendships and new opportunities for collaboration across communities around the world.

Membership and volunteer support make this work possible and help sustain future exchanges, cultural programs, and international partnerships.
