A Farm-to-Table Experience Supporting International Student Exchanges

What if one evening could transport you to the Italian countryside—without ever leaving Colorado?

On Saturday, August 29, the Potenza Committee of Denver Sister Cities International invites you to experience an unforgettable evening where fresh food, Italian tradition, and international friendship come together at Friends Farm in Lafayette.

Inspired by the success of last year’s sold-out Harvest Dinner, this year’s event expands the experience beyond the table. Guests will begin the evening by exploring the farm and hand-selecting the fresh seasonal ingredients that will become dinner.

Then the magic begins.

Italian chef and Potenza Committee member Federica Perrone will transform the freshly harvested ingredients into an authentic Italian meal, prepared before your eyes while sharing the techniques, traditions, and stories that make Italian cuisine one of the world’s most celebrated cultural treasures.

As the sun sets over the farm, guests will enjoy their meal under the Colorado sky accompanied by live music from the FreeStyle Band, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the relaxed outdoor gatherings found throughout southern Italy.

But this evening offers something even more meaningful than exceptional food.

Every ticket purchased helps create opportunities for Colorado students to experience Italy firsthand.

Priced at $100 per person and $50 per child, approximately half of each ticket directly supports the Denver Sister Cities International Scholarship Fund. The Potenza Committee hopes to raise $2,500, helping provide scholarships that allow students to participate in next year’s exchange with Potenza.

These exchanges do far more than introduce students to another country. Participants live with Italian host families, experience daily life and traditions, build lifelong friendships, and return home with a deeper understanding of another culture and their place in our interconnected world.

The Farm-to-Table Dinner is a wonderful example of what Denver Sister Cities International is all about—bringing people together through shared experiences while investing in the next generation of citizen diplomats.

Whether you come for the food, the music, the farm, or the opportunity to support international education, you’ll leave having experienced a small taste of Italy—grown right here in Colorado.

Supporting the Next Generation

Every ticket helps fund international student exchanges through the Denver Sister Cities International Scholarship Fund, creating opportunities for Colorado students to spend two weeks in Italy as part of DSCI’s Young Ambassador Program.

Last year, the Potenza Committee awarded full scholarships to six Colorado students, allowing them to experience Italian culture firsthand while living with host families in Potenza. Through events like this, the committee is working to ensure that future students have the same life-changing opportunity.
