Dear Denver Sister Cities Members,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Special Board Meeting last evening and to those who have continued to reach out with words of encouragement and support.
The purpose of the meeting was to acknowledge recent Board resignations, ensure organizational continuity, and begin the process of rebuilding the Board of Directors. The Board adopted several transition resolutions that allow us to continue serving our members, supporting our City Committees, and protecting the long-term health of Denver Sister Cities International.
While leadership transitions are never easy, our mission remains unchanged.
For more than six decades, Denver Sister Cities has built friendships around the world through citizen diplomacy, cultural exchange, educational programs, business relationships, and international collaboration. Our volunteers, committee leaders, members, and partners are the heart of this organization, and we are committed to ensuring that this work continues to grow.
Help Us Build the Next Board
As we move into this next chapter, we are seeking thoughtful, engaged individuals who can help guide DSCI into the future.
We are looking for people with experience in areas such as:
- Nonprofit governance
- Finance or accounting
- Legal or compliance
- Fundraising and philanthropy
- International business and diplomacy
- Marketing and communications
- Community leadership
- Education, arts, culture, or civic engagement
You may recommend yourself or someone else whom you believe would be an excellent addition to the Board.

The recommendation spreadsheet is already seeded with a number of potential candidates identified by Board members and supporters, but we welcome additional recommendations from across our membership.
Over the coming weeks, the Board will continue evaluating candidates, appointing additional directors, and strengthening the governance needed to support DSCI’s mission for years to come.
